IMOGEN FREELAND
Imogen Freeland is a British photographer based in London. Born in 1987. She received a BA in Photography from Falmouth School of Art and an MA in Photography with Distinction from London College of Communication.
Renowned for her portraiture, Imogen’s style is best known for her use of natural and ambient light sources which lend an unusual depth to her images.
Driven by research-led, self initiated projects, Imogen uses an autobiographical approach to storytelling that seeks to examine the subjective human experience, exploring existential themes such as birth, adolescence, pregnancy, heartbreak, sexuality and ageing.
Photographing people in intimate settings, with a raw, honest and inquisitive approach, her work looks to question and expand on conventional definitions of feminine beauty, to include all body types, of all ages from all backgrounds, embracing vulnerability and self consciousness, and celebrating diversity.
